The History of the Church
The Beeches Road Baptist Chapel began over one hundred fifty years ago at its current location. Known then as Cave Adulam Strict Baptist Chapel, it was a well known and well attended Strict Baptist church in the Black Country . The main chapel was officially opened in 1897 and is capable of seating around five hundred adults. The main chapel has remained relatively unchanged with the exceptions of a heating system and electric lighting being added in the twentieth century.
A large Sunday School was a part of the ministry of chapel in the early years. Eventually, the Sunday School was closed and as a result, the attendance at the chapel began to slowly decline. At the opening of this century, the numbers were quite low and without a minister, it became more difficult to retain attendance. Many of the members had become unable to attend because of age or illness and it was decided that the neighboring Ebenezer Baptist Chapel would help with scheduling ministers and holding bi-monthly services. The desire and prayers of the remaining members of the chapel was to see the chapel remain open and the word of God faithfully ministered each week.
A New Beginning
In the summer of 2006, the Cave Adulam’s board of trustees contacted the Temple Baptist Church in Tennessee , USA , to ask if anyone would be interested in coming to see the work go forward at the chapel. In June of 2006, Julian and Jean Evans, and two of their children, David and Debbie came to re-start the work. 
They remained until December of that year, then, as planned, returned back to the United States to continue their ministry obligations. Beginning in January of 2007, James and Genevieve Zenker, also from Temple Baptist Church took up the work at the chapel and have been there since. During the last few years, the Lord has done wonderful things in bringing in many children, youth and adults to hear the gospel. We rejoice over the many who have made professions of faith and the great change that we have seen occur in their lives. A Sunday School was started and now is averaging forty to fifty children each week. Many parents have come as a result of their children attending and heard the gospel. We praise the Lord for both young and old who have come to know Christ as their Saviour. Beeches Road Baptist Chapel is growing like a family, one person at a time. The membership is growing; please pray with us that God will continue to bless the work for his glory.
